Guys,

Again, verifiable facts is all I'm asking. You can quote whoever and talk about Linus Pauling but I have yet to see anything Griffin or Pauling has said or done verifiably and repeatably cure anyone from cancer. If the data exists, please point us all to it.

Here's a fact about vitamin C and cancer: "Three prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled trials were conducted by Moertel et al. at the Mayo Clinic; all three failed to prove a benefit for megadoses of vitamin C in cancer patients"

Here are the references for all three trials:
New England Journal of Medicine 301:687-690, 1979.
Cancer Research 35:3075-3083, 1975.
Proceedings of the American Society of Clinical Oncology 2:92, 1983.

Yes, Chemo is not generally a cure. My doc says chemo helps 20% of patients but affects 100% of them. I do not do general chemo because my cancer doesn't respond to it, but for others it works 20% of the time (more or less). Not a cure, but it can help 20% of the time. The snake oil these other guys are selling does not help anyone.

Certainly keep an open mind and research every avenue possible, but when confronted with verifiable facts that a certain treatment doesn't work maybe you could reconsider your premise.

I should have been dead from Multiple Myeloma by 1996 according to original prognosis. The doctors kept me alive with chemos and transplants. Yes, they damage the body, but it recovers - so does the cancer and that has to be attacked again.

Now I am on to Phase 1 trials as the only way to get at the latest very expensive partially directed drugs to help find out how they work.

If I am very very lucky then the doctors will keep me alive long enough for these protein folding calculations to allow doctors to direct medication directly at the cancer cells, then we may have a cure for cancers in general.

Horray for Rosetta, and all the staff and people who sail/fly with her!

Guys,

Here's a fact about vitamin C and cancer: "Three prospective, randomized, placebo-controlled trials were conducted by Moertel et al. at the Mayo Clinic; all three failed to prove a benefit for megadoses of vitamin C in cancer patients"

Link here http://www.cancertutor.com/WarBetween/War_Pauling.html

[But who would do such a bogus study, the treatment protocol was so simple an idiot could have followed it? You track down a doctor known to hate alternative medicine, one Dr. Moertel of the Mayo Clinic.

In response to the success of the Cameron/Pauling studies, the NIH funded a totally bogus "study" at the Mayo Clinic on Vitamin C that did not even remotely follow the same patient selection protocol or the same treatment protocol. Of course since they made no attempt to replicate the Cameron and Pauling study, they did not get the same results. Was the protocol too complicated for them to follow?

When Cameron and Pauling complained that the study was so overtly and grossly bogus (this ridiculous study was actually published in a major medical journal - the New England Journal of Medicine), a second bogus "study" was commissioned by the same NIH. You might call this: "a bogus study replacement technique" for Big Pharma and corrupt scientists. Needless to say, the Mayo Clinic again refused to follow the simple treatment protocol and again they did not obtain the same results. There was even a third study, and guess what, again they did not follow the same treatment protocol and did not get the same results (Note: technically this third study was done by a different group, but this group was affiliated with the Mayo Clinic). Do you see a pattern here? ]

[Finally, after he had said the Mayo Clinic has shown that vitamin C has no value in the treatment of cancer, I said that Mayo Clinic study was a fraud. And I can explain just how. The Mayo Clinic people didn't follow the procedure that Dr. Ewan Cameron used at all. They say that they did, but they didn't. We know that they didn't. So you can't rely on that.]

Your link does not provide any references to the four independent studies it references that verified that vitamin C worked. I guess the bottom line is, since vitamin C, according to your sources, can kill cancer and make people live 5 to 12 years longer, exactly where are all these people? This has been going on since 1970, there should be thousands of people who have tried this alternate treatment and have gone on to live for 5 to 12 years. Where are they?

Again, verifiable facts is all I'm asking. You can quote whoever and talk about Linus Pauling but I have yet to see anything Griffin or Pauling has said or done verifiably and repeatably cure anyone from cancer. If the data exists, please point us all to it.
