No new tasks with my computers. I'm almost done with my last task and no new downloads. One light to illuminate all darkness. |

Keep trying. There are an extra 100,000 WUs in progress compared to yesterday, but they're all getting swallowed up as soon as they're issued. They're coming through in fits and starts. Seems like you have to be lucky to get a turn first. |

What caused the system crash this time? No message boards for a day or so, now servers are overloaded... Where is your redundant system? If you don't have one I think it is time you guys create a backup server that is a mirror image of your main server. These crashes and outages are getting a little old. And no one has updated the front page news with what happened. |

I could be wrong (and I often am) but I'm sure I saw words to the effect that they had a hardware failure in their back-end Storage Area Network As far as redundant servers go, I'm sure they'd love it - just bring money. CH |

Based on the results graph by day on the home page it looks like no one has been able to upload any results all day, my self inclueded. |

servers are overloaded by everyone trying to access them. As far as redundant servers go, I'm sure they'd love it - just bring money. Ask Uncle Bill and Uncle Warren for some money. |

Notwithstanding the all green status that the server status report proudly declaims: 10/1/2010 2:02:14 PM rosetta@home Reporting 3 completed tasks, not requesting new tasks 10/1/2010 2:02:16 PM rosetta@home Scheduler request completed 10/1/2010 2:02:16 PM rosetta@home Message from server: Project is temporarily shut down for maintenance Rosetta has been offline essentially now for over two days. At one point during this outage, there was a message on the home page indicating a problem with the SAN storage. That useful explanatory message is no longer showing. The technical news page hasn't been updated in over *18* months. I am guessing (and given the informational hard vacuum it is only a guess), the problems with the SAN may not be resolved -- or in resolving them other indeterminate issues has flared up. The Rosetta project has generally been a very reliable distributed processing project. That has been its charm and at least part of its draw over the years despite the inordinately low credit structure for CPU cycles that it imposes on users. Of late that reliability has taken a few hits, with the curring (and persisting) outage being the most recent. So, the trend toward technical problems is a bit discouraging. That discouragement is amplified by the informational vacuum that is in play. I am hoping to see both trends reversed soon.... |

All my uploads went through 30 minutes ago, I've already sneaked 3 tasks down and there's a message on the front page. I hope they fixed it good. The servers are going to take one helluva hammering now! ;) |

Not sure if this qualifies as a 'problem with the website' but I'm getting 'file not found' errors after installing a fresh BOINC (6.10.58) and try to join this PC with Rosetta: 1/8/2011 11:10:10 PM rosetta@home Started download of minirosetta_2.17_windows_x86_64.exe 1/8/2011 11:10:10 PM rosetta@home Started download of minirosetta_graphics_1.92_windows_x86_64.exe 1/8/2011 11:10:11 PM rosetta@home Giving up on download of minirosetta_2.17_windows_x86_64.exe: file not found 1/8/2011 11:10:11 PM rosetta@home Giving up on download of minirosetta_graphics_1.92_windows_x86_64.exe: file not found 1/8/2011 11:10:11 PM rosetta@home Started download of Helvetica.txf 1/8/2011 11:10:11 PM rosetta@home Started download of minirosetta_database_rev39052.zip 1/8/2011 11:10:13 PM rosetta@home Giving up on download of Helvetica.txf: file not found 1/8/2011 11:10:13 PM rosetta@home Giving up on download of minirosetta_database_rev39052.zip: file not found Would be nice to get this beefier machine on the project. Any suggestions? Ziggy |

All WUs are saying "download failed". Still no executables, but some work unit(s) downloaded: 1/9/2011 9:21:14 AM rosetta@home Started download of 1prq.aahelix03_05.200_v1_3.gz 1/9/2011 9:21:14 AM rosetta@home Started download of 1prq.aahelix09_05.200_v1_3.gz 1/9/2011 9:21:23 AM rosetta@home Finished download of 1prq.aahelix03_05.200_v1_3.gz 1/9/2011 9:21:23 AM rosetta@home Started download of 1prq.native.pdb 1/9/2011 9:21:26 AM rosetta@home Finished download of 1prq.native.pdb 1/9/2011 9:21:26 AM rosetta@home Started download of helix.psipred_ss2.gz 1/9/2011 9:21:27 AM rosetta@home Finished download of helix.psipred_ss2.gz 1/9/2011 9:21:30 AM rosetta@home Finished download of 1prq.aahelix09_05.200_v1_3.gz I found Google cache entries for the minirosetta and minirosetta_graphics exee files at boinc.bakerlab.org/download and ralph.bakerlab.org/download, but the files dont exist, and infact, none of the other exe files do either. So I cant even pull down an older version and load that. So I have work, but nothing that can process it... Maybe it's a bit obtuse of me, but I see now (Twitter, and project page) where there is mention of their file server being down. I guess that's the reason, but on the server status page all looks good. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. In the meantime I'll suspend the project so I don't download any more work units. I don't want them to get stale or lost. Cheers! |

All WUs are saying "download failed". Note quite; I got ONE new workunit since the failure. I suspect that I had already downloaded all the *.exe files it needs for other workunits before the failure, though. |
