I have BOINC mostly working on IRIX - but there is a major issue in that IRIX is not a supported platform for any BOINC project. I bet that I could muster up a few older supercomputers though, given work units to use them on. Is it possible to contribute a binary for Rosetta? Is the source code even available? |

You will probably want to review the whole thread, but here is a reference to the license terms to look over the source. https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=4794&nowrap=true#60320 Depending on what hardware you actually have committed, you may actually benefit the overall TFLOPs more by either working on the optimizations described in the referenced thread, or by creating a GPU version. Just depends where your interests are and what resources you have available. If your primary objective is to contribute technically towards increasing the project's processing power, please send me an EMail describing your skills and I'll forward to the Project Team and ask them to suggest a course. If you are interested in other BOINC project, SETI and SIMAP (bio medical project) has also binaries for IRIX available. The SETI application and a BOINC client for IRIX is available on my homepage http://www.dotsch.de. The SIMAP IRIX application is available on the SIMAP download page http://boinc.bio.wzw.tum.de/boincsimap/appdownloads.php |
