Hello, it would be great to download a much higher number of tasks. For me it is not possible do access the internet every day, so it would help much if I could download a higher number of tasks f.e. 40 or more. Thank you. |

There are already two settings available that will allow you to download more work. 1. In your Rosetta@home preferences on the website there is an option to set "Target CPU run time". That controls how much work to do per task you download. The default has recently been set at 6 hours but you have the option to increase it up to 2 days. 2. In your Computing preferences (either on the website or the BOINC manager on your computer) you can set an option for "Maintain enough work for an additional X days". In recent versions of the BOINC manager the same setting has been split in two for "Minimum work buffer X days" and "Maximum work buffer X days". A big warning with these two settings is to change the target CPU time a few days before you increase the work buffer. Your BOINC manager and client will download work based on the target run time of recently completed tasks; if you set the work buffer first to 5 days you will download 20 tasks (hours per day / recent target run time * work buffer required = number of tasks downloaded) (24 / 6 * 5 = 20). If you increase the run time to 2 days your 20 tasks will then each last for 48 hours, increasing your work buffer from 5 to 40 days in an instant. With these two settings it is quite easy to download more work than you can complete within the given deadlines. |
