Thanks for alerting them to it. But on what other project are they not monitoring their own work units for failures? One would think that at least the researcher who submitted these work units would be aware of the large numbers of computational errors. |

I have had a number of failures on the Rosetta 4.20 in the last couple of days, but all of the "movingstub" ones have worked. perhaps a solution found is to use the 4.21 version like i wrote here https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/forum_thread.php?id=14922&postid=105003#105003 Boinc do it alone . |

I have set rosetta to no new tasks, synchronized with project, resetted project, and still get 4.20 workunits |

Jim - as I said before, we are guenna pigs and our computers are used for leftovers and stuff they can't run or don't want to run on their AI system. We used to be the front line and now we are back line. And with backline they don't monitor, because if they did then Sid would not be having to fill in the gap between us and the project. And if they would have followed procedure, they would have found the fault in the movingstubs group via Ralph and corrected it before they released it to Rosie. But this is the way it goes now. |

movingstub_gzm1_minimize_3CL_AVLstub_0182_184_extract_B_SAVE_ALL_OUT_2908283_416_1 NOT FIXED! I had 25 errors last night after I killed 24 of these damn things and now I am 51. After killing two rounds of this garbage I am at 165. GEES! |

I was trying to get 4.21 application 4.21? I must be missing something. I am only aware of 4.20 Maybe 4.21 is not released to us yet since they need to get 4.20 cleaned up before moving to a new version I would think. |

For some reason 4.21 app is released only for 32 bit windows. https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/apps.php |

Can I get an answer as to what is going on with this? All my tasks over the last few days have been "computation error." Included, sample of report. Application Rosetta 4.20 Name movingstub_gzm1_minimize_3CL_AVLstub_0016_208_extract_B_SAVE_ALL_OUT_2906721_735 State Computation error Received 20/02/2022 09:04:33 Report deadline 23/02/2022 09:04:29 Estimated computation size 80,000 GFLOPs CPU time 00:00:02 Elapsed time 00:00:22 Executable rosetta_4.20_windows_x86_64.exe |

Can I get an answer as to what is going on with this? Bryn, it has nothing to do with your computers. The issue is with the tasks that project supplies. |

For some reason 4.21 app is released only for 32 bit windows. You don't qualify, you run AMD and Android Microsoft Windows (98 or later) running on an ->Intel ,- x86-compatible CPU |

Bryn - when you see them. Abort them. I've killed over 120 in 24hrs. |

It says Intel[B] x86-compatible CPU Do you think if i install 32 bit windows in virtualbox i will be able to use 4.21 version? |

Warning! RAH is sending out moving stubs in bulk now. I just aborted over 130 of them in the last 5 minutes Now setting RAH to no new tasks. I have only 1 python running. UNREAL! |

No, because during the benchmarks BOINC will tell the project what kind of processor you have. You need a intel chip and even then there is no guarantee there is work in 4.21 Your the first to bring it up. Anyone else here have INTEL machines that are getting 4.21 or is it all 4.20? |

It says Intel[B] x86-compatible CPU You need a intel chip The description is misleading - it has nothing to do with the CPU. Instead, those apps run on a computer with a 32-bit OS while the 64-bit apps don't. On a computer running a 64-bit OS you can run both apps. |

You need a intel chip No, you need a CPU compatible with intel-x86, but it doesn't matter if this is a "true" intel CPU or AMD or whatever. Also, it doesn't matter if it's a "real" 32-bit CPU, or if it's a 64-bit CPU that is also intel-x86 compatible. As you can see from the application-page, if you're using 32-bit Linux/Windows none of the application mentions AMD at all, but if you're using either OS you can still download and crunch work units with your AMD. Warning! RAH is sending out moving stubs in bulk now.It has been doing that since they were released. If you keep aborting them, then it will keep sending them. Just let them error out and the BOINC Manager backoffs will stop more from being downloaded till the backoff expires several hours later. Grant Darwin NT |
