Every time I suspend a work unit it gets corrupted and errors out. When I am ready to shut down my computer, I exit boinc and shut down. Whenever I come back to restart it, it is fine. When I suspend other projects, they seem to work fine. Why do wu's from this project corrupt whenever you suspend them?

I am using BOINC 4.45, XP Service Pack 2, 2.26GHz P4 processor.

I can't answer your question of why this happens, but I can tell you what I've done as a work-around.

I have two machines, and I have decided to have the older, slower machine process Rosetta work exclusively, so that WUs are never interrupted. My faster, multi-CPU machine is set to work on 3 other BOINC projects, and not Rosetta.

The problem you mention is known by the Rosetta@Home programmers, and I believe they are working on a fix (according to other posts on other discussion threads).

Yes, we've been logging all of these problems and will pass them along to the primary developer, DK, upon his return from holiday. Thanks for your patience.

I also encountered this problem, and a similar one as well:
I was progressing in a rosetta working process when BOINC automatically skipped to seti (it skips every 60 minutes, by default). When I came back to rosetta, it lost about 30 minutes off the "CPU time" already processed. I'm not sure if I suspended it prior to that...

Anyway, I'm detaching from rosetta temporarily, and I hope this will be solved soon and I'll be back.

I'm a newbie, btw. ;)

my (unrelated) site is http://thaye.net

thanx!

Well,

I now have an additional computer, my dad's, with a double cpu, and would love to do some rosetta@home on it in addition to other projects, has this problem been solved?
(btw, I downloaded the new boinc manager program on that computer, perhaps in the new version it's been solved?).

thanx,
