I have a problem getting the software up & running: After going through the 'attach to project' process, the final message I get is "Required wizard file(s) are missing from target server. (lookup_account.php/create_account.php)"

The related message in BOINC Manager is:
Thu Feb 16 16:17:34 2006||Fetching config info from https://boinc.bakerlab.org/get_project_config.php

If I try to attach to the recommended server, boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta, I get a message saying "The URL you supplied is not that of a BOINC based project".

Any ideas on how to finally attach to a project?

I'm on an iMac G5 running OS 10.4.4, BOINC 5.2.13. I've also tried to attach to Seti and Climateprediction.net, and get the 'required wizard' error there as well.

Many thanks.

Well to run CPDN you will have to load some library changes for the system. As of the "Wizard" error, I have not seen that before.

I presume you are using the attach function in the Menu of the GUI version of BOINC 5.2.13. So the problem may not be on the project side. When you go to attach the BOINC software will run an attach wizard on your system to assist in creating the project ID and attaching to the project. this would then start the download of the project files and work units.

You might try creating a user ID first by going to the project site with Safari and creating the ID. Then run the BOINC software on your system and try the attach to project function under the "Project" menu.

But it looks like the real issue may be something missing or not properly installed on your system.

Thanks for your reply, and you're exactly right.

I gave up on the full version of BOINC and installed the menubar version, which worked. So then I figured, if this works, then the full version should too. So I deleted the previous installs, reinstalled, and now everything works. Thank heavens. It was very frustrating.

I think the problem relates to not installing the library files first. Lesson learned, always follow the instructions.

Excellent. Welcome aboard. You may find the FAQs linked from my signature below useful in setting up your prefs and running Rosetta. There are some new features to set to control your rosetta system. Generally the Macs run the project without many issues, but if you have a problem posting in the number crunching forum is often the fastest way to find help.
