Hi everybody, I am not sure, I am new and therefore not sure, I overlooked a related question somewhere, but I don't get any new tasks for 6 or 7 days now. Is there any known problem or do you have any advice for me, what to do? BR Matthias |

You're running several projects, what do you have your Resource shares set to? If in the BOINC Manager (Advanced view) you select Rosetta in the project tab & then Update, what messages do you get in the Event log? Grant Darwin NT |

Project settings:So Rosetta is the primary project. There's a chance that due to the short deadlines, but long run times for Rosetta work that after doing Rosetta work it takes several days of processing the other projects for the Manager to get things to match your Resource share settings. If you are using all of your cores & threads & using them all the time i would have expected it to only take a day or two (if that). However, if you have BOINC set to suspend processing while the system is in use, or if non-BOINC is above 25% (and also depending on your cache settings) then i could see it taking a very long time for your Resource share settings to be honoured, resulting in some long periods where some projects aren't being worked on. Where do I find the log?In the BOINC Manager (view, Advanced view), Tools, Event log. Grant Darwin NT |

Hi Grant, thank you very much, I will check these points if anything like this will happen again. I guess, it has to do with the shared resources, but yes, it should not take so many days, I am running it on 80-90%, depends on my mood. GPUGRID is running in parallel, as it uses GPU mostly instead of CPU. I will also check the log next time. It is called "Meldungen" in German, that's why, I didn't find it. As I said: thank you very much for the information! BR Matthias |
