This is rather strange... I am new to BOINC and Rosetta. I've finished 2 work units and BOINC reported that it needs to contact the server. Results have some 31 and 37 kb, everything is going well until I transfer some 16 kb and then it stops. I have modem connection and it's working ok. Also I have BOINC v5.2.13 and Rosetta v 5.01. I have AMD processor Burton 2500+ and Windows XP Pro. As you can see below I have tried to upload several times but the attempts ended in the same way - I was able to upload only to 16 kb of each result. BOINC DIDN'T report any errors! Any ideas...? 4/25/2006 12:57:44 AM||Starting BOINC client version 5.2.13 for windows_intelx86 4/25/2006 12:57:44 AM||libcurl/7.14.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8 zlib/1.2.3 4/25/2006 12:57:44 AM||Data directory: C:Program FilesBOINC 4/25/2006 12:57:44 AM||Processor: 1 AuthenticAMD AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2500+ 4/25/2006 12:57:44 AM||Memory: 511.48 MB physical, 1.22 GB virtual 4/25/2006 12:57:44 AM||Disk: 10.00 GB total, 6.01 GB free 4/25/2006 12:57:44 AM|rosetta@home|Computer ID: 209155; location: home; project prefs: default 4/25/2006 12:57:44 AM||General prefs: from rosetta@home (last modified 2006-04-23 19:03:58) 4/25/2006 12:57:44 AM||General prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults 4/25/2006 12:57:45 AM||Remote control not allowed; using loopback address 4/25/2006 12:57:45 AM|rosetta@home|Resuming computation for result 7485_largescale_large_fullatom_relax_dec7485_1_03_2.pdb_432_10_1 using rosetta version 501 4/25/2006 12:57:45 AM|rosetta@home|Started upload of PROD_ABINITIO_ALPHABETABAR_1tul__447_63796_0_0 4/25/2006 12:57:45 AM|rosetta@home|Started upload of PROD_ABINITIO_7STRANDBAR_1tul__447_63796_0_0 4/25/2006 12:59:11 AM||Attempting to send data to [boinc.bakerlab.org] failed [failed sending data to the peer] 4/25/2006 12:59:11 AM||Attempting to send data to [boinc.bakerlab.org] failed [failed sending data to the peer] 4/25/2006 12:59:11 AM|rosetta@home|Temporarily failed upload of PROD_ABINITIO_ALPHABETABAR_1tul__447_63796_0_0: system write 4/25/2006 12:59:11 AM|rosetta@home|Backing off 1 hours, 2 minutes, and 32 seconds on upload of file PROD_ABINITIO_ALPHABETABAR_1tul__447_63796_0_0 4/25/2006 12:59:11 AM|rosetta@home|Temporarily failed upload of PROD_ABINITIO_7STRANDBAR_1tul__447_63796_0_0: system write 4/25/2006 12:59:11 AM|rosetta@home|Backing off 59 minutes and 11 seconds on upload of file PROD_ABINITIO_7STRANDBAR_1tul__447_63796_0_0 |

Does the system download ok? It looks like it might be dropping the connection somehow. We Must look for intelligent life on other planets as, it is becoming increasingly apparent we will not find any on our own. |

I downloaded work units without any problems. The modem connection is slow so I needed much time to do so but there wasn't any problems. During download my connection crashed a few times but I manadged to download wu's from several attempts. As I wrote before Rosetta completed 2 wu's and there wasn't any errors during that time. The funny thing is that both results can only update to some 16.72 (16.73) kb each. Haven't had any problems with download/upload using other programs. (Although, I must say that I don't upload very often. I have used Seti classic for a very long time and there wasn't any problems with upload...) |

Your record shows lots of download errors and many successful downloads but you do not have any successfully completed WUs. If you use the screen saver you may want to stop using it or try updating the driver... Use the following to check for stability... Prime95 Torture test Memtest86+ BOINC Wiki |
