Well, if you uninstall BOINC, then Rosetta and any other BOINC application are gone with it. There are no Windows registry entries or anything else to worry about. Just exit BOINC (File -> Exit to shut down BOINC and the applications) go in to Windows Control Panel, and add/remove programs, select BOINC, click the remove button that appears. Having said that, you generally shouldn't notice it's running. Especially since I see you've got 1.5GB of memory. There are a few folks having problems with the graphics display of Rosetta, where it shows the protein model it is working on. To be on the safe side, close the graphic window, and don't use it as a the screen saver. Best to use "none" as the screensaver, as the screen saver program will otherwise consume CPU time that could be crunching Rosetta. When you are running Rosetta, you should cancel the BOINC manager. By that, I mean click the red "X" in the upper right of the window. This will close it to your systray. You just double click it there if you want to bring it back up. If it is interfering with your other applications, you can set your general preference to NOT run while you are using your computer. You can also set it you only run during certain hours of the day. Add this signature to your EMail: Running Microsoft's "System Idle Process" will never help cure cancer, AIDS nor Alzheimer's. But running Rosetta@home just might! https://boinc.bakerlab.org/rosetta/ |
