Moving my mouse over my screensaver doesn't result in the screen saver going away. I get a spinning beach ball and that's it. I'm using a dual 1.8 G5 desktop. Since it's dual, there are two tasks running. It seems as though there are layered screen savers, one for each task. The top one went away, but the bottom one seems stuck. I have been using the screensavers for a few days now, and this is the first time I've seen this. Stephen |

I have three dual Mac running the project and on one occasion I had the system act as you describe, but it was not two versions of the screen saver that caused the problem. In my case I had to manually shut down the system. After restart I have not seen the problem since. Usually the system will alternate between screen savers by application, but I have never been able to make it run two versions at once, or more than one version for a particular application. We Must look for intelligent life on other planets as, it is becoming increasingly apparent we will not find any on our own. |

I was able to use the F11 key to show the desktop and hide the screensaver. Pressing F11 again gave me back the (still stuck) screensaver, but command-q did quit boinc-manager. |

Also have the loci-up /w spinning ball often. Have to shut down the system and restart to regain controll. If this continues, I plan to quit Rosetta. Tom Lovelace |

The version 5.45 which was just released has improvements to the Rosetta graphic which should help such problems. There are still however a few issues that remain on the Mac platform. Until those are resolved, please do not use BOINC as your screensaver. This should avoid any lockup problems. Rosetta Moderator: Mod.Sense |
