10/20/2005 1:07:40 PM|rosetta@home|Result 1pvaA_abrelax_27594_1 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file
10/20/2005 1:07:40 PM|rosetta@home|If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project.
10/20/2005 1:07:40 PM||request_reschedule_cpus: process exited
10/20/2005 1:07:40 PM|rosetta@home|Restarting result 1pvaA_abrelax_27594_1 using rosetta version 477

What makes it do this, and will resetting the project actually help...will that abandon the current WU so that it never gets done?

Also...I installed BOINC a while ago and started work, but had to format my computer because of problems and due to the problems the work from before won't get completed...what will happen, will it get re-assigned? It's still under my result list. Thanks.

It is generally safe to ignore the 'no finished file' message no matter how often it occurs.

The work should eventually be resent. Assuming you are running the latest client and you merge your hosts it may even be resent to you.

Does this mean that, after getting the 'no finished file' message the wu will be recomputed (processed again). If so, it seems like quite a waste of time/resources. Resetting the project seems to have no effect. I'm running several projects, but Rosetta is the only one that almost always gives me these messages. If the wu's restart and process again (and possibly give the same message again) I'd rather send that time to another project that processes wu's once successfully. Thoughts/ideas? Thanks.

Sorry answered two questions without enough seperation between the answers. I do not know of a situation where anything really needed to be done about the 'no finished file' message. Just ignore it and keep on rolling.

The second answer was about work lost in a reformat. It is regrettable when this happens but the project will take care of it by reissuing the work if needed.
