5.8.0 is out in testing at the moment, (you can try it it is on the boinc download site)

If it passes all the tests then it will be made gold.
If not any fixes will be made and 5.8.1 will go into testing.
So it will be ready when it works well enough.

there has been a slighty delay since on of the developers has moved house.
