            he needs 1 to the 25th power tribles to run in electricity generating wheels to keep the machines alive and how is the power on this machines? specially for crunching?
 i'm truly a "frugal" penguin (in addition to being a "bad" penguin)...

 with "black friday" and "cyber monday" sales, promotions and such:

 the amd x2 4000+ cost me about $30 (normally ~$60);

 the visiontek / ati x1950pro cost me about $60 (normally about $160);

 and it's a long story about the ps/3, but the short of it is that it will cost me about $220 (normally $400).

 AND in preparation for the upcoming Intel 45nm's, I purchased this case for about $75. LIQUID COOLING, BABY !!!

 and how much do you pay for all these features?
 "brain surgery" successful.  "alta_bbd" a64 3800+ retired; "vista-voo" x2 4000+ created.
 next "operation", on "quad-cora" (dell dimension9200 / intel q6600 quadcore) is to increase ram from 2gb to 3 gb (darn those memory addressing limits of 32 bit os'es), and add a Visiontek / ATI x1950pro gpu. "Some" dc projects are actually able to use this gpu for crunching...

 ... and the ps/3 is in the channel, to arrive in near future.

            1^25 tribbles?
Hmmm, 1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 x1 = ???

Sounds like i'm a gonna need a whole lot of tribble food, not !!!

Probably would want a mate though, wonder if thats a good idea, lol...

Fortunately, the x2 is more energy efficient than the a64 was, the new 65 Cell BE is more efficient than the original, and the x1950pro more efficient than the x1950xt or x1950xtx.

I could be doing worse, energy-wise, than what I have...

(thinking of purchasing a second x1950pro for the "new" Compaq x2 4000+)

            Maybe your species -
but humans (homo sapiens) have opposable thumbs

Raccoons have thumbs, but not opposable.

So - you're all inferior.

 Proudly Banned from Predictator@Home and now Cosmology@home as well. Added SETI to the list today. Temporary ban only - so need to work harder :)

            although with the current resident of a certain house that is white, not too certain that i'd want to admit being from the same country...
no wait, that's what got the dixie chicks in trouble (but now, everyone can see that they were right)

how easy is it to gain belgian or swiss residency, lol !!!
