Hi, I'm on a PowerMac G4 (dual 1.42 GHz) with Mac OS X 10.4.3. I've been using SETI@Home for a while now without problems. However, Rosetta is giving a problem. All of my work units are erroring out with: <core_client_version>5.2.5</core_client_version> <message>process got signal 5 </message> <stderr_txt> dyld: Library not loaded: /Users/jim/gcc-4.0.2-bin/lib/libstdc++.6.dylib Referenced from: /Users/rsesek/Library/BOINC/slots/1/../../projects/boinc.bakerlab.org_rosetta/rosetta_4.77_powerpc-apple-darwin Reason: image not found </stderr_txt> I'm not sure why this is happening. Any advice? |

I have the same system, and had the same problem. To fix it I had to upgrade my BOINC client to version 5.2.5. After that it took a few hours for the system to stablize but it seems to fix the problem. Most of the other project that work on the Mac can handle the new BOINC version, but if you were using any of the optimized clients (or plan to) you have to give that up to run R@H on the dual G4. Other Mac are less sensitive to this problem. So far the Project team has not figured out what is causing this problem. there are a few topics on this issue in the number crunching discussion on the general boards here at R@H. Almost nobody from the project ever reads the Mac threads for problems. Regards Phil We Must look for intelligent life on other planets as, it is becoming increasingly apparent we will not find any on our own. |
