Hi,

Rosetta is crashing when screen saver starts. Have a ati 800 card and latest driver. It is only under Rosetta that I have any problems. Do anybody have any suggestion
on how to fix it...??

Are you using BOINC as your screensaver?
If so, do you have any problem when assigning some other screen saver?

Are you allowing BOINC to run while your computer is in use? (this is in your General Preferences)

If you open BOINC and go to the advanced view, and click on the tasks tab, then click on a Rosetta task and then go click the "show graphics" button, does this display seem to cause any problems?

How long has this been a problem?

Thanks for reply,

I am also running SETI, Einstein, and Icathome I have no problems with in any way.
I got Rosetta about 2 weeks ago. Rosetta runs fine when I use my computer. It seems that the problems starts when the Rosetta screensaver starts. Locks up my computer so I have to restart it.

Could be a OPENGL problem. Got the newest 7.6 ati driver now and I reinstalled boinc and Rosetta...same problem. My pc are running fine otherwise no problems at all.....looks like I have to forget about Rosetta.

Why not switch off the screen saver and set the os to put the monitor in standby anyway? If the screen saver is on your not in front of the monitor anyway.

Why not switch off the monitor when away from it? Standby used power too.

on how to fix it...??

Same Problem on my Notebook (MOBILE ATI X700).
Hangs after a few minutes of running. And only way to escape is to switch the computer totaly off...
So i deleted rosette from notebook.
On my big computers it is running fine (Nvidia Cards).

(All Windows XP)
2 other boinc projects are running well on the notebook.
