I have a network of 400 computers I would like to try BOINC|Rosetta on. I'm thinking about having the client constantly running but only performing work when someone's not logged in. In dnetc this is possible by giving the "Pause when running" option the value "Finder" (at least on Mac OS X). Is there any way to achieve the same goal when running BOINC|Rosetta? |

Set the option 'do work while computer in use' to 'no' and set a delay time in the next item. This should get a reasonable approximation of what you want. It would also be a good idea to leave applications in memory in this case. BOINC WIKI ![]() ![]() BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

Yes it's possible (see post below), but just FYI you can run the client while people are working and this has no impact on performance whatsover. I play Doom 3 while crunching and it works just fine - simply because the boinc process has low priority and won't 'steal' cpu cycle from other apps. Team CFVault.com http://www.cfvault.com ![]() |
