Hi, I am also relatively new to this project and had the same problem. As relies to user queries do not seem to be very prompt on this project I will tell you how my problem was resolved. Because of the apparent absence of a signature verification on a Rosetta program my computer security system, Kaspersky, deemed the program to be untrusted and treated it accordingly. I moved the program in question from the "untrusted list" in Kaspersky into the "low restricted" list. This then allowed the program to run. I offer this information as a fellow user who had similar problem and not in any official capacity. Cheers |

Replies have been posted many times in many threads. I am a volunteer as well and simply cannot keep up with things when everyone posts everywhere. All you can do is allow BOINC to carry out it's normal steps of recovery for such situations. In addition to some antivirus applications erroneously flagging the Rosetta executable as a virus, there were also some issues where a specific download file's signature was not produced properly. So there are two issues. One with AV applications, and one within BOINC where the signature check isn't always working. The BOINC side is what was described in the original post. When BOINC signature checks do not match, the task is basically aborted. When you get another one assigned, it has a high chance of being one that is properly signed. Rasmus, your computers are "hidden" which I understand is the default from facebook. But it prevents me, as a volunteer, from seeing the tasks your machine was assigned. There are still some tasks in the system that were created incorrectly and resulted in this problem. When your machine requests more work, you will eventually get some of the good ones assigned. BOINC will retry everything for you and clear up this problem on it's own. Nothing to do on your end. Thanks for sticking with us through this problem. The Project Team is working to locate the tasks that are causing problems and purge them from the system. Indeed it looks like Michael Beck now got one that completed the download properly.
