Do you have any other problems with your computer? Random reboots or lockups? You might have a hardware issue somewhere. Excess temperature, memory problems, inadequate power supply are all things to check.

Also, it's a good idea to change, in preferences, the leave in memory option to Yes. This can cause some issues with rosetta if you are running multiple projects as BOINC switches between the projects.
