What version of boinc do you using? Try the accountkey if the pw didn`t work.

If you have not done this try it;
You need to go to the "Change password" link on the "Your account" page this is a direct link and set up a password. Then reboot...Use that instead of your account key when you connect to the project. The "Getting Started" instructions haven't been updated with the procedure required for the current version of BOINC.
