Im running 3 computers and 2 of them seem to get enough work and the third one keeps running out of work for some reason . Iam on dial up and have preferences set for 2 days of jobs and the 2 computers will download enough but the thired may only get 6 hours at a time. In the messages tab it says in red letters no work from project.

I'm also getting "no work" on one Windows machine, albeit Scheduler status says "Queued: 85,690"

Try setting up a separate profile for the "trouble" system, and increase it's "Connect to network" value. You'll then need to go to the "View My Computers" link from the "Participants" link above, drill into the computer itself there, and set the venue at the bottom.

It should switch over next time you update the system. You'll want to update it manually (I do this anyway), but it should cause it to D/L additional work.

The overriding cause of this is a fundamental design flaw in Boinc. The fact that we have a single value for that governs both how often to get work, and how much work to get. Superficially this makes sense, but in practice, being able to have a larger cache than the duration between updates would solve a tremendous number of problems, and would, for the most part, make the system more reliable.
